Hi there,We plan to take our first trip to Poland before X'mas to meet our child. Still ironing out travel details with our agency/facilitator. I know I'll be going over all this with our agency, but just had some questions. Where did you meet your facilitator? At the airport, hotel, orphanage. Do most people fly into Warsaw and go from there?Any suggestions for ice breakers for a 19 month old? I was thinking of bring a Xmas stocking with some stuff in it, teddy bear, a small book, small toy, pictures of our family. If anyone could share their experiences it would be great!ThanksBB

Hi there,
Congrats on your date to travel. This was a very emotional experience for my hubby and I last year.
We met our facilitator at the airport in Warsaw. Our son was in Warsaw so there were no further travel arrangements to be made. She helped us to settle in and answer any questions belore getting ready for our meeting at the orphanage. I had prepared some points I wanted to say to the director and law guardian as well as questions I had that I didn't want to forget.
Be prepared that you may be observed by the director with your child/ children. We brought a toy, blanket (which I slept with to get my "scent" on it) and photos. All of these we left with our son. Food goes a long way, specifically cheerios and fresh fruit from the hotel. My son't face was something I'll never forget as we gave him these. It kept him coming over to us and we were able to watch him pick up the small pieces and make eye contact.
Best of luck and feel free to PM me!
