Hi,
I sent my bson a letter via certified mail a month ago and have not received verification that the letter has been received. I was prepared to wait for an answer when I sent the letter (it tool me four months to craft a letter and mail it when I found his contact info) but I hadn't planned for him not to pick the letter up! Either the USPS has lost the letter or he's more like me than he even knows; I never pick up Certified Mail from someone I don't know! So, should I wait a little longer (like after the holidays) and resend the letter via UPS? Is this a sign that he's not interested? Should I send it regular mail? Help!

Thanks, I did track it. It was undeliverable, think it might be an old address. I have found his Facebook page. I've alwayas thought that was an inappropriate way to contact him. However, I was sent another address that was from 2002, not valid and am getting frustrated with trying to find a current address while I can look him up on Facebook. Which is more important...that I contact him or how I contact him? I'm in that odd place of wanting to contact him, being scared to contact him and not wanting to screw this up before we even get started. Any advice?

Have you checked with an online phone/address directory, like whitepages.com or anywho.com? They might have a more recent address listing for him.
white pages will also usually send you to people search which will allow you to check out more info to make sure you have the right person. The cost for one check is very small. Warning - I couldn't locate my bson because he had moved within the last 6 months. (Ironically, before then he had been my sister's next door neighbor.)

I've checked the online white pages, people search, intelius, etc. The address I sent the letter to seems to be the most recent address.
Kathy, my bil and sil live three blocks from him. Thought that was odd til I saw your post about your son being your sister's neighbor! I'm going to ask my bil to go over there and ask the doorman if he knows anything about my bson, maybe they can give us a lead. Another odd note, two of my friends on Facebook are friends with two of his friends. (small world, eh?) It's an option to ask my friends to ask his friends if they have a current address for him. Jeez! This is never easy is it?!
Lokey,
Synchonicity has long been noted in the adoption world. Betty Jean Lifton first wrote about these coincidences way back in 1979, when she first published "Lost and Found."
It is indeed a very small world!! :prop:
Send a letter reg. mail too. Keep trying. Hang in there I know its hard. I have a daughter I gave up in 1991. She just contacted me in Aug. of this year.
Send him a message on Facebook. Thats how my daughter got a hold of me. Thats probably the best way to get a hold of him.
