Hi Everyone!
Just excited about the New Year and wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! For those of us who are waiting, I find seeing 2011 on the date exciting as I am now 1 year closer to being matched with our child! Not really - but it is closer to the year that we might be matched!
Would love updates on how all of you who are waiting are doing! We are still waiting for an adoption via ICBF and were officially listed as of 9/2009.
Who is still in process?? Anyone with a new blog I can stalk...I mean, "follow"?! :clap:

Hi Megan! Happy New Year!
We are on the same boat, waiting. Somehow I feel the same excitement than you. We are getting close to have our children home, one year less!
I'm buying books each month to read to them as soon as they arrive. I already have two in English and my next couple will be in Spanish.
Also, I'm already estimating how much money we will need for our trip; I think we should open a new bank account and start moving that money there :-) I hate to think about money and adoption at the same time, but it is a reality. Thank God for tax credits and employer benefits!
And I dont stop browsing Amazon and adding items to my wishlist :-)
We are officially waiting for two kids up to 4 years old since 08/2009 (kindof).
As I cannot plan yet our trip to Colombia, we are planning our Summer in San Francisco and our next Christmas in Venezuela!

Hello all,
We got word on December 23 that our updated home study was on its way to Bogota! We are anticipating a referral by May. Now, we have to think about beds, toys, clothes, etc. I will keep you posted. Happy New Year!

Yea, 2011! I am so hopeful that we will get our baby this year. We have been waiting almost 3 years for a baby 0-18 months from the ICBF. If the trend continues, maybe fall 2011 we will be parents. :clap:
I look forward to following along with you all on your journey. Before you know it we will all have our children in our arms. Can't wait.

Hi everyone! Im new to this whole blog and forum thing so im not even sure if im doing this correctly but for those of you who have been approved by ICBF already do you know what region you were placed in and is there a way to find out? Im curious to know because my agency said I wouldnt now know untill we get the referral but in searching through countless couples adoption journey blogs I have found that most of them seem to know what region they were placed in. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Our dossier has been approved and we are now just waiting on a referral but as you all know this wait is like tourture. So at this point im like a spunge trying to absorb every bit of information

Welcome to this forum! We are still waiting for a referral as well, but we were told that we would know the region before the referral. Maybe it depends on the policy of the adoption agency.

Thank you for the info Rebecca! Well an update is that i did find out what region I was placed in yesterday and its one that in all my searches in Colombian adoption I have not found one person who has gotten my region! It is called Putumayo. Do you know or have you heard of anyone getting this region? It seems to be a very small city. Do you know what region you were placed in yet?
