I don't know what information you already have, but this California birth database can sometimes be helpful to locate siblings if you know either a birthdate or name: sfgenealogy | CABI Search
To find your birthparents (or siblings), you can look at the many online registries -- adoption.com and other sites as well -- and see if you can find a match for your birthdate and city of birth. You can also register your own information to make it easier in case someone is looking for you.

I am searching for my son in laws birth mother. He was born August 19,1975 in Contra costa County in california. Her name was Brenda Goss and she was about 16 when she had him. He was adopted by Jerry and Bonnie Sloan who lived nearby and they since have gotten divoced and remarried. I heard someplace that she lived in Livermore but nothing for certain. I contacted a Brenda Whittenbaugh in New Jersey who was Brenda Goss and lived in Lovermore but she is not the right one. Any information would be appreciated.
wow thats crazy I was born in Contra Costa county myself on August 19th but 1989 :P I found my biological family through myspace but also we were a younger generation. What I did before I found them that way though was use 411 A LOT. I called alot of strange people and had that awkward conversation of "are you my mother by any chance" yes awkward. But I can suggest you take him to Martinez to the hall of records. They will probably send you to a building across the street. I was put in foster care in the area but I figure it might work the same. If he was TAKEN from his parents you probably have a better chance of finding a file explaining why and previous addresses and records. I would start there. Second contact his adoptive parents and try and get any information they might know. Third I would contact the adoption/foster care agency he was put through. If it was closed down like mine was try and find ANY branch anywhere that you can. They keep records in a storage facility and should be able to request them. You can also probably call the county office and tell them you are looking for files from an adoption place that closed down and they might be able to tell you if they were still kept or moved. Good luck!
Brenda has been found ! Congratulations Craig and Brenda on your happy reunion. Craig and his dear Mother-in-Law asked me to let everybody know. :rockband:
