This maybe an odd post but I am not sure what to do. We adopted our daughter through foster care. Our daughter has 4 other bio siblings that we are in contact with. They are adopted by three other families. Anyway one of the am found an obit that we think in bm. Name was right and birthday also stated that she had 5 children. My question is - is there any way to get a copy of the death certificate?
We have not told any of the kids yet because we want to make sure we have the correct information. Does anyone have any recommendations.
Oh the reason question this is that a friend looked it up on one of the geno sites and it had a different social security number than we had on file from the foster care case.

Leigh, Have you called your adoption worker at DHS? They should be able to confirm it for you I would think. I would try that first and ask for updated family health history at the same time. You could simply try vital statistics for the death certificate - state child of person as the who??? If that does not pan out perhaps somebody else with have an idea. Kind regards,Dickons
