We are getting ready to do a home study for our niece and nephew. They were taken from their mother and DCF is going to inspect a few family members including us to see where to place the kids. One is an 11 yr old girl and the other is a month old boy. My question is we only have one room, will they allow for them to share a room or is she to old to share a room even with an infant boy.
In MA, the oldest child could be no older than 8 or 9. I'm not sure about Florida
But, in the case of relative caregivers (welcome, btw!), they waivered this requirement temporarily. DD was allowed to share a bunkbed with her (now) 10 year old brother from when he was 7-9 (she was 3-5). DD's grandmother was told she'd need to add a room if she intended on making it permanent.

I kind of thought that too. I guess once the come and do the homestudy I will be able to ask them and see what Fl rules are for that. Thank you.
In FL the rule is that genders can share to age 3. Under age one they can stay in parents room in their own crib. So in your case you could have a crib in your room and the girl her own room.
