Born in Colorado, Finalized in Utah

So which state should I search? My birthmom was in the Florence Crittenton home in Denver for approx. 5 mos before she had me - then the adoption was finalized in Utah - my adoptive parents never lived in Colorado - I think they went there to "get me" but do I search there or in Utah for the records? I have a son with several genetic problems and I need to find some medical history - I owe it to him to try...thanks for any help. My info: girl born 5/16/66 in Denver, Co.
