Just posting on this board because we're literally counting down the seconds until Friday, so I thought i see what you guys thought while I stare at the clock. Heh!
We've been going through "the process" for right at 2 years and were selected to meet with a child's adoption team(case worker, social worker, Guardian Ad Li-tum, Therapist) to see if we might be a fit. From what we understand, there were over 30 families who showed interest in this child. The team narrowed that list down to three families. We were one of those families. We met with the team last week and it seemed to go VERY well. They told us thst they would make a decision by this friday. Since out meeting, we received a phone call asking us to meet with the child's therapist to discuss his needs in more detail.
We're thinking this is a good sign that we might be selected, but are unsure if this is standard operating procedure that that call all the potential families in, or if maybe they're looking at us a little closer.
Anyone have any insight. We're trying not to get overly excited, but.... well..... its way too late for that. :)

Congratulations!! Do you have a timeline for moving him yet?
Heh. Well he was supposed to move in in 8 weeks after a transition period. However due to circumstances that I can't discuss(nothing he did wrong.... The "system" screwed up), he moved in with us permanently the following day. That was 11 days ago and we've all been grinning ever since. Kinda strange.... I was expecting it to be much harder but he has fit in wonderfully. He has already made friends in the neighborhood and when we met with his teacher yesterday, she said "he is a whole new kid. He is happy". His grades have already pick up and even his therapist can't believe how well he is doing.

Fabulous news! What age is he?
He just turned 10. We all went to the beach this past weekend and had a blast. He had never been to the beach before so it was interesting to watch him experience if for the first time. We're starting to get settled into a normal routine. Life is good! :)
