We were matched through the county with a baby girl that was in the hospital for 35 days. We brought her home and have had her for a month and a half. The birthmother has 3 other children all adopted by the grandmother. But the county says she can't now adopt anymore children. So I guess she has given the county names of other family members one being in Texas we are in California. That person is interested in having the baby so the coundy is starting their process of seeing if they are capable of having her. This is killing me the baby is my heart I know we don't know anything yet but this is so hard. Has anyone else been through something like this?

Yup. I know how hard it is. Our first placement was a preadoptive baby. We had him for 9 months and then he went back to his birthparents after DCF lost the TPR trial. We were devastated. My advice is to just keep loving and advocating for your baby and get a good grief therapist lined up in case you need the support later.
Hang in there-- you never know what will happen.
