I appreciate your support and your input on this matter. I introduced Senate Bill 357 this year, and the bill did receive a hearing in committee, but it did not pass out of the committee by the predetermined deadline. It was my hope that language from SB 357 would be incorporated into the state's biennial budget, but that did not happen either. I feel that by having an adoption subsidy offered to potential parents, but then not offering any funding for the subsidy is a great disservice to those willing to make a commitment and adopt children in our state. I am sorry that I could not relay more positive news to you pertaining to this subject. Once again thank you for taking the time to contact me with your thoughts on this particular issue. Everyone needs to voice an opinion to the Representatives about this.. his statement about offering then not funding is exactly what gets me. Either offer and fund.. or dont offer at all!
