Anybody out there done RDI? We are getting ready to start it with our 6 year old with Aspergers and would love to hear of others' experiences.

We have used RDI almost exclusively, with a few ABA-ish things thrown in there. Our son has gone from a non-verbal EXTREMELY delayed 2 year old who did not eat by mouth or walk or interact in any way with anything (he screamed and spun and flapped, basically) to a very high functioning 4 year old who would pass to most people as a poorly behaving and very hyper "typical" child. I can't say enough good things about how RDI has worked for us :)

Scandi, we were sent to a non-profit mental health agency in our county because no one else was willing to treat our son at two years old. They did not recommend ABA at the time because of his brain injury and fatigue issues. So, we went with RDI instead and it was/is great.Today my son sat independently through 1/2 hour storytime at the library. Even with a girl with a dora backpack he REAAAAALLY wanted sitting just a few feet from him. he kept his hands to himself and did what he was supposed to do. It was awesome.
