PLEASE HELP - I think I might have found my BF!

There is a man who I believe might be my birth father.. so far I have only been able to find a FB account to contact him through - I can not find a phone #. He is in the same town as me.. I am somewhat nervous because I believe there may be a language barrier to overcome, however he worked for many years as a tailor in my city so he must be able to communicate somewhat in English. How do I proceed to contact him - and what on EARTH do I say?? Looks like a message via FB is my only choice? (If it makes a difference, the non-ID information that I have says that he wanted my BM to keep the baby even though he was married at the time and he would have helped her support the baby.. but he supported her decision to place for adoption)
