The last five years have been overwhelming. I was adopted at 6 months of age, and struggled with being adopted all my life. My husband now of 5 years, and a history teacher, has supported me through the search and wow...what a ride. All my life I was told that my birth father had died in an accident, but just after I found my birth mother, it turns out he was very much alive. After finding him, which was a fluke, childless and somewhat of a celebrity, he has chosen to write a book about the experience. How I wish that ALL adoptee's would have this kind of reception! If we all were to know that we would be received with such excitement and love...that's half the battle wouldn't you say? The book is entitled "Road to a Miracle" and I would recommend everyone in the triad to read it. He lays a beautiful blueprint for birth parents, and their perception on the matter. We all need love, adoptee's more than most.
Wow, what a great story!
On one hand, I can't imagine how overwhelming it must have been to find out your birth father was alive, but on the other hand, what spectacular news about his plans for the book! Is he an author by trade? When's it coming out?
