I have been speaking with a few agencies which assist in adopting from Poland. However, I am very confused as to the structure within Poland. Do different agencies have different access to orphanages? Say does one agency only work with certain orphanges? I was told that there are three agencies that represent the children in Poland: TPDCatholic Adoptive Guardian CenterPublic Adoptive Center. Would any agency I choose not have the same access and representation in Poland?? I hope I am being clear on the question I am asking! Thank you all! Helen :flower:

Helen,That is correct - every agency has different contacts in Poland. It appears that some orphanages or some districts have their preference as to which agency to work with for particular type of placements. I noticed that one agency seems to place younger children and not siblings, another agency places mostly sibling groups, and so on. It doesn't necessarily mean that you can't adopt with a certain agency because you have a preference for a type of adoption they don't typically deal with - it only means it may take longer to find you a match. You will probably get PM's about each agency to make this a bit clearer. But you'd get the best answers if you specify exactly what you're looking for (siblings? single? ages? gender (if you have a preference)?)
Hylo, I am interested in your observations on which agency works with younger placements. If anyone has any information...please PM. I would be grateful. You'd get the best answers if you specify exactly what you're looking for (siblings? single? ages? gender (if you have a preference)>> I am a single, 44 year old female who speak Polish. I am hopeful for siblings (girls) between the ages of 4 and 7. Helen :thanks:
Any qualified agency can work with two of the adoption centers. The Catholic one is much pickier however. You can read their specific requirements and what agencies they work with on this page. The Catholic Adoption and Care Center in Warsaw, PolandWhen talking to agencies make sure to ask how many children have come home through this agency in the past year and their ages, genders and heath. Ask to speak with at least one or two of those families. It's a red flag if they will not give you this information or if they won't give you references to talk to
