My DD is 4 y.o. and had never had a hair cut/trim. Is that right? How old were your girls when they got their first trim?
Once I looked closely, it seemed that DD hair was 2 completely different textures. The ends were very tightly coiled, tangled and hard to comb thru. From the scalp to just before the ends it was much easier to comb thru... was that a sign the ends were damaged and needed to be cut?
I trimmed her ends about a 1/2 inch. I plan to keep on top of this... but was wondering if I've been remiss on trimming her ends and should have started this sooner.
Lately DD's wearing braids, but will get her first trim at the next session. Could be, if the ends has major frizz.

My DD got her first trim when she was 5 and that was at her first visit to a hair salon. Her ends were really dry and ragged looking so she was overdue.
