Seems kind of like it might be a setup to start an argument? http://forums.adoption.com/general-adoptive-parent-support/397102-pregnant-birthmom-looking-feedback-birthmother-expenses.html
Seems like it might be worth watching.
My first thought was solicitation actually. It's pretty specific in naming how much she wants for expenses and the "finding the right family" line.
Could be a set up troll too, I can see that.
I agree we'll need to watch.

Yeah. Could be. $3000 a month is crazy to me, but I know it happens. Would be interesting to see what the law is in her state regarding birthmother expenses. Assuming she even is legit. Seems like there was just a thread on that - or maybe it was Unplanned Pregnancy - with a link to each states laws.
Just looked at her profile and her reason for joining is something to the effect of birthmother questions and looking for excellent adoptive parents
All bold in following is mine for clarification.
Possible profile from facebook: location is right according to her a.com profile. possible discrepancies (but could be changed for a.com post) is difference in number of children (fb says 3, post says 4); a.com post says "previously married" and fb says married, also could be changed to suit needs.

Oregon State law regarding birthmother expenses:
OREGON:
Oregon has a birth father registry system which eliminates the need for notice to, or consent of, most putative birth fathers. The procedure requires an affidavit of the birth mother that he has not (1) registered with the state, (2) been married to her, and (3) supported or lived with her or the child in the 60 days prior to the adoption proceeding.
(If they are married as time of childs' birth, he is automatically the legal father)
Washington State - referenced in Oregon statement below
Payment of all of birth mother's expenses related to the pregnancy is permissible. Fortunately, most birth mothers qualify for state paid pregnancy and delivery medical assistance, which is not reimbursable by the adoptive parents. Other expenses such as maternity clothing, counseling, pregnancy related transportation, loss of income and/or short term living expenses are regularly approved by our judges, especially if independent attorney review occurs on behalf of the birth mother.
Oregon
Payment of a birth mother's pregnancy related expenses are also allowable similar to Washington, with the law requiring filing a sworn expense disclosure statement and court review.
County by county variances exist, but generally Oregon courts are quite supportive of reimbursements for all reasonably related pregnancy and birth expenses.
Most birth mothers qualify for state paid pregnancy and delivery expenses without adoptive parent reimbursement.
I am a college educated previously married mother of four who was involved with a seriously abusive individual and ended up getting pregnant.
fb shows her as married.
Just some food for thought as we watch this thread. Personally, I don't think she is legit.
