We are in Florida and used a facilitator in GA. In my opinion, that was the absolute best way. They basically have connections all over the country and only go to adoption friendly states. In 2 weeks we had 7 situations offered to us..all we turned down for different reasons, either family wanted too much involvment, cost or medical concerns. We turned in our profile the end of Sept to our facilitator and they matched us with a situation in Vegas that was pefect for us! We were matched Sept 30, 09 and flew to Vegas on 10/1/09 to meet our son! (we almost made it..he was born in baggage claim..haha!) After 72 hrs in Nevada bio parents lose their rights or have to do the final sign off. So we basically left the hospital with our son..with no risk at all. He was OURS! Just had to come back to FL and do final court hearing. PM if you would like the name of the facilitator. It was money well spent and they only work with 10 families at a time so it happens FAST!
