Why?

Just curious to hear what people have to say. Why did you choose to adopt the age/needs/etc that you did? We choose to adopt a girl, 3-7, with very minor needs. We decided on adopting a girl because we already have 3 children, two of which are boys. Deciding on ages 3-7-our youngest is 7 and we don't want to disrupt birth order, we also don't want a newborn. Deciding on very minor needs was harder. We don't have great medical insurance so we could only afford needs that don't require extensive therapies or surgeries. Needs like missing/extra fingers, a missing arm, birthmark, etc. Sadly we couldn't afford things like blood transfusions, heart surgeries, or cleft lip/palate surgery/therapy.
