My 4 yr old aa daughter managed to cut what seemed to be a lot of hair off. :grr: :grr:
You cannot imagine how mortified and upset I was to find big hunks of hair sitting on the floor!!
What is the best hairstyle to help camouflage the really short areas?
Now when I fix her hair not only do I have horribly thin little pigtails in one area but a bunch of short hairs at the hairline that won't stay in the bands and make it look really messy. I am going to try to paste it down with edge gel but any other ideas would really be appreciated!

This is one of my biggest fears! I think the only way I could hide it on S is if I kept it in a fro, and had the rest of her head trimmed down a bit to try to hide it. I'm not sure how I'd hide it otherwise unless you can do really small cornrows around the edges? But I'm not sure how short she chopped it?

Oh gosh, that is a problem I've faced over and over with my kids and my granddaughter has cut her hair several times, too. With the boys, it wasn't that hard, but my daughters each cut chunks out of their hair several times. The hair would finally get grown out enough to start to be able to do something with it and they'd do it again. I remember my youngest daughter telling me that she didn't cut it, it just fell off! Usually, the best I've been able to do is just try to get by until the cut part grows a little, and then cut the rest to match it. Hats and/or wide headbands might help, while you are waiting for it to grow some, especially while you are out in public. I've crocheted several little beanie-type hats with flowers, or kitties on them, for my granddaughter, that looked real cute and hid the fact that she had cut a chunk of her bangs down to nothing.Good luck!
Hey thanks so much for all your helpful ideas!!
Recently I've tried putting it into one ponytail and spraying with freeze spray, which was recommended to me by the lady at Sally's.
The freeze spray is ok but I was wondering if anyone else uses any kind of gel or something to keep it in place? Something that would really hold well, maybe like the stuff used for those spiky mohawks, yet something that wouldn't be harmful to the hair and leave a lot of residue that won't come out when the hair is combed the next time.
And what is that stuff I occasionally see some latina ladies using - makes the hair look almost wet/slicked back and not a single hair is ever out of place?! Would something like that work on Athena's hair?
