Hello, I'm new to this and still interviewing agencies. As we are trying to learn all the ins and out and decide what agency & or services to work with....
I'm getting nervous about all these up front costs I'm seeing. I would like any constructive feed back, information about what the various fees might be or should be covering or information about your experiences. Of course recommendations on questions to ask & information to clarify.
I realize there are some mandatory up front costs to get the process started and meet state requirements. I'm still a little surprised how much the very.
Standers seem to be:
- Application Fee
- Home Study & Supporting Documents
- State &/or Agency Required Education Classes (done along side the home study)
Any other stander fees I might not have noticed yet?
What concerns me are things like:
- Required "weekend orientations & education" pre-home study, pre-acceptance & pre-contract with the program/agency???
- "Signing/ Contract" Fees required before "going in the book" or "Going live"???
- Minimum amount of advising fees (I would think this would be part of the "Signing" fees, but it is not always)
- Match Fees??? Due at match, prior to placement or finalization?
- Commitment to agree to a amount/range of birth mother fees??
Help sorting this all out....???
