Throughout my life, I have always had difficulty adjusting to being adopted. So many questions and very few answers. Please keep me in your prayers..thanks.
Hello bluemoody! My baby sister is adopted too. I was 15 when she came to live with us, she was 9 months. We always kept in contact with her birthfamily. I never even thought about all of the hurt and confusion she must have went through growing up. When we started our adoption, we had to go thru training classes and it really made me think back to certain times in her life, and the way she handled situations. I realize now, she was really afraid of going to live with her birth family, and we were insensitive to that because we just didn't realize it. I have started wearing a braclet that says "touched by adoption" as a reminder to pray for my soon to be adopted child and for my baby sister. I will add you to my prayer list.....((hugs))
I hope you find what your looking for.

Prayers being sent. Like the PO, I have a close family member (cousin) who is adopted in what was a closed adoption. We never really talked about it until my DH and I started this process. I'm embarrassed to say it never occurred to me what she might be going through...she's been an awesome support to us. Peace to you.
