Hello! I just posted to another thread, and I thought I would like to ask this group for a prayer request for my family.
We are in the early stages of our homestudy, we hope to be approved and waiting no later than August/September. We know God has lead us to adoption, because it was never part of our plan, but he laid on our hearts at exactly the same time. (my DH never wanted anymore kids! Our girls are almost 16 and 13) Even though we are so early in the process, I still get a little overwhelmed and anxious sometimes.
The post I mentioned above was in response to someone who has been approved and waiting for a while already. If I am already feeling anxious, I can only imagine how this family feels.
With all of this being said, whomever responds to this I will remember your family in my prayers, will you please remember mine?
I really hope to get a good prayer chain going, because we all know the POWER OF PRAYER!!! Thank you and God bless!
I'm praying for you and your family and thank-you for praying that my husband and I will finally be parents this year.

I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers.
This is my first post on this board. We are in a similar situation as yours, and basically at the same point in our adoption journey, as well. My husband and I both feel we have been called to adopt a child, even though our own son is 14 years old (we are unable to have any more biological children). We will be completing our homestudy and education in the next few months and are anticipating being on the waiting list by June or July.
Praying for you . . . and wishing you nothing but the best.
I will pray for you! The process is long but so worth it! It's been almost a year but we have now been placed with the baby of our dreams by doing foster care. Hoping and praying to be able to adopt her! Please pray for us too!
:wings: :wings: mrsmiller, I'd love to see an update! I pray that all is going well. Please pray for me, as my dh and I have NOT heard the same thing from the LORD. However, I doubt very often that he is even listening. Please pray that his ears be OPENED to the call of God on his life and that he OBEY the voice of the LORD.

Hello my4kidz!
We are actually waiting for our written approval one day this week! Which is amazing, because we switched agencies in June, but our new agency is awesome. We are only using the agency for the homestudy and then we are trying to do our adoption independently.
I will be praying for your family too!

I will pray too :)
We are also in a similar situation. Our youngest is 13 and our oldest is 19. We know God is calling us to this. We picked a child out whom we saw on heart gallery and that is who we are trying to adopt. Our home study is being done this week and then we are finished.
I talk to his case worker on a weekly basis and feel confident we will be his forever family. he is severely medically fragile so there has not been a huge amount of inquiries made on his behalf :(
We are also looking to adopt a sibling group of 2.
I will be praying for everyone in this group. Please be in prayer for our family as we do our home study this week....

I just realized that I had not updated this thread. We are home study approved and officially waiting!! Thank you for all of your prayers. Please keep praying for us!
Our family will definitely be praying for your family. We certainly know what those early stages of the adoption process were like. Currently we're waiting to hear from the SDA in the Ukrainian government to invite us over. There are many times that we have and still do feel overwhelmed and anxious, but we continue to trust that God is in control and that all will unfold according to His plan. Please keep us informed of how your adoption is going.

I do understand feeling down or rather feeling a little helpless. We finalized our adoption for our 13 year old daughter September 17 of this year, then God spoke to us to adopt again, we have been waiting for our updated home study to be approved and no even seems concern. While waiting we made an inquiry on a sibling group of 4 ages 11,9,8, & 3. I am soooo excited but the social worker is waiting for our updated home study. I am praying that we are re-approved and our home study is where it needs to be before the year is out. I feel helpless because their seems to be nothing I can do to get the ball rolling, of course we have done everything they ( Department on human resources) has told us to do. I guess my main issue is that their are so many children waiting to be adopted but it seems the system twiddles their thumbs while parents wait and the children wait as well. I mean what else can we excpet pray.
