I have been through the sibling discovery, search and reunion process, although not as the product of an adoptee or sperm or egg donor, but as a child who discovered that one parent had "secret children". However, I believe that the experience is eerily similar and there just is not enough information out there to support those who are going through the process. As a psychology graduate student, I have been moved to embark on a formal empirical study of the unique phenomenon of secret/surprise sibling discovery, search and reunion. I hope to garner information regarding the unique feelings and experiences in the process to help those who are currently facing the issue.
