I am seeing that Missouri is horrendous for searching adoptions. However, I was tasked by my family to try and find info on my Grandfathers birth family. I believe he was born at the willows, reason being I remember my great-grandmother saying something about the files being burned. As far as I know there are no other stories like this. Also, he was born in Jackson County, Kansas City, MO. He had an identical twin also born on the same day. We are all just curious to know what our 'real' surname is and possibly where we come from. With that being said, both boys 'twins' are deceased, and I am sure the birth parent/parents are too. Do I have any right to any information from the court system? If not are there any 'angels' that could help me?
adopted surnames for the twins are: Meyer and Staples
Thank you so much. Brian
I dont know about any rights through the court system but there are many sources around that will help.
On this site there are Search Angels who are free.
You can search as a genaology project and go around the court system.
If you know where he was adopted there are court records at that adoption site.
I wish you the best.
