Okay, I can't make it to the review board thing for our baby girl, even though I truly want to...I filled out the paperwork that was sent with the notice for the review board date.
What do I do with the paperwork? Will not going make it look like we don't care? Because we so care! We're hoping to adopt Princess and it looks more and more like adoption with every passing day...any thoughts? Anyone ever attend the review boards?
Oh my goodness...update:
So I'm dusting in the den and pick up the papers to re-read the letter and it says the review board was set for March 21st and the form had to be sent 7 days prior...we just got the letter last week! How could we have sent it 7 days prior? So upset...

I am not expert, but we got the same form for our fd who is now with a relative, and also got one b'c biomom was bringing suit against dyfs or whatever...however i attempted to contact them a few times to let them know she had moved but the never returned my call and the form never would have made it 7 days prior...so I know that doesn't help, but I'm thinking maybe send a letter anyway??? couldn't hurt to have your opinions based on their questions in writing...
With my AS, I got the letter AFTER the meeting. So, even though I would have gone, I obviously couldn't.
With my FSs who just left, I got the letter in plenty of time to fill out the info and send it back.
You should get a letter in the mail about the review board's recommendation for your FC. Bear in mind, though, I am not sure how much weight their recommendations hold with the CW or the judge.
Thanks for the input, it's nice to know we'll at least get to hear how it went.
And I am thinking of mailing it in anyway; you never know what could happen...I just didn't want it to look like we weren't concerned, but what can you do when the letter arrives late?
I would definately send it in-even if it's past the date of the CPR-I don't know what county you are in-but in Monmouth County I think it carries weight...

In my experience (Northern NJ) the review board is a bit of a joke and you shouldn't worry as long as you sent the paperwork in. Even for major hearings we have sometimes sent paperwork in as late as faxing it the morning of an afternoon hearing, and had it submitted. I just called the department and gave them the heads up that it was faxed. We are supposed to get 2 weeks notice of hearings (not review board but regular hearings) and usually get the paperwork maybe 5 days before the trial. i really would not worry about the review board - they care more about what the CW has to say, probably.
Okay, thanks...I talked to the CW and she said it's been happening a lot lately and she would just let me know herself from now on.
