Which style do you like better?
Here are my 2 daughters with their easter hairstyles, both done yesterday.
I decided to get Selena a professional hairstyle for Easter. It took 90 minutes. I had to stop the hairdresser from using so many beads or the whole thing would have been beaded without any hair showing except at the scalp.
Athena is adamantly opposed to having professionals do her hair so I did hers myself in 25 minutes... it was rushed and didn't come out exactly as I would have liked but I was running late, and they had to get to the egg hunt and I should have gotten started earlier... anyway. I am obviously not great at doing hair but it's not lack of effort!! :)
(I am thinking that this "professional" didn't think I would notice things like rubber bands showing between beads and crooked-ish parts and lots of little loose hairs where they shouldn't be.)
So just take into account which style you like better, not the amount of effort or cost it took!!
Both super cute but I like the one on the right better. I think if the one on the left had fewer beads, I would like more.

Just a question, isn't it hard for her to sleep on all those beads? Just wondering and remember the few times my mom would put rollers in my hair when I was a kid and remembering how hard it was to sleep with them. (the pink sponge ones, but they still hurt!) I also like the less is more attitude.
I agree that, although they both look very cute, I like Athena's better. I think it is cuter, but I also think it looks a lot more comfortable and I would worry that that many beads might break off or pull out some of the hair. Joanna has had braids with beads, twice, and has found them so uncomfortable that she hasn't wanted to leave them in very long.
Momraine, I used to have to sleep in curlers, too, every saturday night and the night before school started, or anything like that. We got the sponge ones on the sides, but the old brush rollers on the top. Very uncomfortable!
I agree with the majority. That's way too many beads. 3 beads per braid would be my max on hair that long. And I also agree with you, it doesn't look very "professional" at all. I would find a new braider. Athena's is perfect in my opinion.
Thanks Nevadajen and everyone else! I appreciate all the input. My style certainly was a lot easier and quicker and I actually think I like it better too.
I'm not taking her for braiding again any time soon and I don't think we'll be going back to that particular professional. Although I did have to redo Athena's today while Selena's is still somewhat presentable.
Hoping, of course I don't mind answering your question! :) It was about 56 dollars with the tip; I've paid anywhere from 40 to 65 dollars.
Momraine, I do think it's somewhat uncomfortable, although she has been sleeping OK. She doesn't really care how her hair is done anyway.
Hey Dickons I think I would have liked the purple room!! :p

My sister put braids in my hair, with extension.Very tight and uncomfortable. She did with my nieces all the time, when they were 1 and up,maybe younger.

I think the professional did a good job,It looks nice.I would asked them if they can use fewer beeds or have them put barrettes. Also it can be tight and painful,so that something else to look at.
$56 for just braiding and some beads? Wow. Your style is much better. I would all thing all the beads would hurt your head at night.
You are good I would never be able to figure that out.
I like your style better too. I get a headache if I have a tight ponytail too long, so I've always wondered how some of these hairstyles don't give these girls headaches. I do like the look of beads if there are just a few at the ends of the braids though.
Your girls are adorable!

Both are adorable! But I always put less beads on S. I've notice when we go to my hometown back North/Midwest the little girls all have beads from the top to bottom. S always asks for that when we are there. But I've never done it, she gets 3-5 beads depending on the size of the bead. I love veil hairdos, so I'm saying it's my favorite of the two. But I love braided hairstyle's on S because they last a lot longer. You really are doing a fabulous job Ocean, don't cut yourself short!! :)
KLL, I just noticed that you had a baby for two days and had to give him back. That's really tough. It happened to me almost 17 years ago. Good luck on your efforts to find your next baby.
