Hello!
I am looking into being a foster parent. I have known for several years that I would become a foster parent, just a matter of when. I am a single woman in my early 20's and live on my own. I am looking to foster and ultimately possibly adopt ages newborn-2 years. I am open to special needs as I have extensive special needs care and sign language experience. I am open to siblings as well.
I have a great job, great benefits, and an understanding work environment. I am looking for any advice regarding fostering very young children, particularly concerning single parenting (though I have a great immediate family), working single parent, childcare for the child(ren), and special needs. Any advice regarding the whole process, these topics preceding, and costs/reimbursements. Also, what do I need to have in my home as far as the needs of the children that the agency will not help to secure. I am able to provide the crib, bedding, bouncy seats, etc.:thanks:

Go ahead and private message me. I am now 26 single mom (started licensure process at 21). Have since adopted 3 kids! They were 8 years old when placed (girl), and her caseworker called me a year later asking if I wanted to adopt two boys (ages 11 months and 2 years old). Since then adopted then in June 2012.
Look below at my placement history, matched with 2 other adoptive placements (2 girls not siblings ages 10 and 11).
I work full time and currently have my 3 adopted kids (now age 1, 3, and 11). Plus, 2 foster kids (age 4 and 12). I work full time, and am getting my 2nd Masters. Starting my doctorate next year. I do work as a child therapist.
I usually take kids with fairly extreme behavior concerns. Id love to talk as I have done it all from 1 year-18 years old from respite, foster care, and adoption.
