Hello Everyone!
My husband and I can't afford an attorney since they want a couple of thousand dollars to do anything. My son is 2 and the biological dad is fine with giving up rights. We don't know how to go about starting the process or even how to find paperwork. If anyone has any Information it would help greatly! Thanks so much!

HI. Our adoption was just finalized. We used reliableadoptions.com for all of our paperwork cost about $360.00. Then we filed it with the court about $250.00. Then you have to serve the voluntary relinquishment to the father and have him sign. Then you may or may not be required a homestudy varying from $300-800. Then the adoptive parent has to have fingerprints done and sent away for about $25.00. Then after all of that you can call to set up a court date for proving it up in front of the judge. Our process took about 1 year but we had to terminate and all that but yours should go throughly a little more quickly. Good luck to you and your family. Also, reliableadoptions can e-mail or you can call and they can clarify and help you!!!
