I hope to finalize our adoption by the end of the month. Yeah! But I'm thinking about all the legal and financial matters I should complete immediately following. I know a few things like getting a s.s. card, changing medical and school documents but concerned that I might be overlooking other things. Help me please, what's needed? Thx!

Some things that come to mind are: if this is a subsidized adoption, you will need to call Trenton to have her new name entered into the system; call her midcaid HMO with her new name; my pediatrician needed to see the adoption paperwork in order to change my son's name on his medical records...hmmmm...if she will get PACC, you will need to call the provider to put her new name into the system.
That's all I can think of for now...

Insurance... i was told the state insurance is to be used for only what our personal heath insurance wont cover.

Thanks everyone. So, do I have to put her on my insurance? I'm satisfied with coverage & docs she is currently receiving & really don't want to make any changes.
