First off, I love our FFA. They have been so super supportive with answering questions, working all our training and classes into our schedule, etc. Well, we are all finished with the paperwork, physicals and homestudy. Now our SW is writing up the study which she says will be ready in about three weeks. Then we can start getting calls. Wow, so excited but at the same time it's like okay, you are finished and now you wait and wait and wait.
How long did everyone wait for their first call? Anyone need any questions answered about the process? I want to help others get to the finish line too!

Congrats on completing the process! We too just completed our part with our ffa and our case worker said our home study has been completed.....but.. She said it now has to be sent to the county for final approval.... I know the counties get involved because that's where they get the children that need placement, but I was not aware the county had to "approve" us too... How long does that take??

Hmm, I didn't hear anything about this from our caseworker. She said that from now on they'll get the calls and they'll be looking at our case for a match. Perhaps it varies county to county but I don't think it would take long for the county to give you the once over and add you to their waiting list.
It really depends on what your age and you are open to as far as special needs and legal risk. We were open for 0-4 boy or girl, sib set up to 2, and open to pretty much any special needs and we were called within a week of homestudy being approved by our FFA 5 times that day. A sib set of boys 4 mo. and 21 mo. but older had very high needs. Then 4 more calls for single child placement girls all under 3 all with mild to severe needs. We said yes to 3 of the girl calls but chose to go with our soon to be daughter.
LOVE our FFA!!!! :loveyou:
It's so nice to hear you love your FFA mcbmom. Which county are you in? We are a little more picky. We are girl or girls 0-3, sibling set up to 2, exposures okay but probably not special needs (except maybe asthma or behavioral issues) and caucasian. I think we may be waiting a while. Ha ha
