Help! Need advice from people who have done this.

We originally started the track to adopt internationally. We have all our paperwork in and are in the waiting game. A friend told me of a situation where a young mother is living in a car and needs to adopt her 2 week old out. It's our friends coworker so it's not and immediate friend. The only thing we know is that they have an attorney and want this to go quickly (like us taking custody in about a week). I guess I am askig if any of you have done something similar and how did it work. I know we need to get our own attorney, doing that today. The family is very serious about adopting her out and they want us to be the parents. I just have no clue how to go from here! Any stories or advice (positive or negative) is appreciated so we know what we are getting into! THANKS! Beth
