Hi all,
I am new to this site. My husband and I are currently waiting for our homestudy to be finalized. We went through Lilliput Childrens Services, and I wondered if anybody would share their experiences with the agency.
We have two people from our class that are already certified and on the wait list, one person who's caseworker forgot to type up her homestudy, and we are waiting too for our honmestudy to be finialized and get onto the 'available family' list. We completed our classes 5 months ago.
I spoke to someboy who told me that if we wanted younger children that we should go through the county, but have also heard that the county is slow and they offer no post adoption help.
I feel like a chicken with my head cut off!
Thanks for reading this.

Not sure where you live but Riverside county is awesome so far! They have so many children that they are having to send children to other counties and states to secure permanent placement! They definitely offer post adoption assistance. All adopted children through the county qualify for MediCal and subsidy post adoption and the social workers are available for questions too! I haven't had any issues with paperwork and loved my classes. I am waiting for my home inspection from the state and home study from the county. After that, I will be licensed and ready to make my forever family!

Thanks Desirae!
We are in Sacramento. Once our certification is final we can look through any other agencies and through the county as we will be certified State Wide.
Good luck with your home study!
Missy :)
i will not recommend to go thru Lilliput,if you are looking for years from 0-3 ,they only get what ever is left from the county.
but yes,if you looking from 4 and up,then you may have a chance...
we started with Lilliput and we was at 6th week in the tranning module and then teacher said ,that if you looking for year 0 to 3,4 it will be hard to find a baby without any problems,so we decided to go next year 2013 and try with the county as we looking for 1 to 3 years old ,baby...
so with Lilliput is depending what years you looking for to adopt.
as for us it was a waste of time and money ,thanks to them not telling as from the begging ...

We are in Placer County and adopted through Lilliput. Had a great experience and adopted 11 month and 3-yr old siblings within months of being certified. Adopted 6 months from the date of placement with NO issues. Children are beautiful and amazing. PM me if you want to talk further. We loved Lilliput.
Different counties = different experiences with agencies. Some counties only use agencies and some have their own children's services.
In San Joaquin County, children come into county care first, then children who cannot be placed with county families go to agency families. In Calaveras county children go through agencies.
