We started this process exactly seven months ago, next week. We have been VERY patient until about a month ago. I know SW are overworked and underpaid, but this is getting to be a bit much! We got all of our RAPT classes done in less than a month (including RAPT 4, as we are planning to adopt) all of our paperwork came back in short order and we assumed we would be set to get SNAP certified by July. We are now in October and it looks like another Christmas without our family.
We are wondering what to do at this point. It seems like there is no recourse and that is killing us!
Has anyone else been through this? Is this wait time normal? We are in NE IN, but were FP's in NC and never expected this as our process in NC took less than 2 months from inquiry to placement.
Any hope at this point would be greatly appreciated!

We are in NE IN as well and we had our first home study in May, then took awhile to ready our home and submit paperwork. We started classes in late Aug and had them all done within four days. (RAPT 1-4.) We then had our home study done and were certified by the 30th. Have you talked to your Foster Family Specialist lately? Did they say why it was taking so long? Thankfully it normally only takes a couple of days to get certified after your last home visit is complete and they get it written up!

We took classes in December 2010. Our CW didnt even show up for the first home study appointment. She finally did show up January 15. Promised completion February 1st. Well, it was submitted for approval March 28, 2011. We were finally approved but changed to a new case worker that had to visit our house before we were placed on the list so that wasnt until the middle of April. We found out in August 2011 that we were never submitted to SNAP for our adoption home study so all of that had to be completed so it was finally completed in October 2011. They are busy but if they need foster parents as badly as they say they do, they should get these done. I would call them.
