Here is a little history on our situation. We are with an Agency out of LA County but live in Orange County. We have been certified for almost 1 yr as a foster/adoptive home. In that year we have not been matched to any children although our homestudy went to Los Angeles County last year and we thought Orange County had our homestudy but after following up with Orange County's adoption recruiter we were told that they never received our homestudy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! That was last year in December that they should have received that. Oh WELL a whole year wasted. I had our Agency resubmit our homestudy! So here we are waiting again. We also have had NO SUCH luck in Los Angeles County. We were suppose to adopt our baby that we've had since birth (he's getting ready to turn 1) but the adoption fell through.
Has anyone had such luck with adopting through Orange County DCFS or even LA County DCFS?
If so please let me know if you were with the County directly or were you with an Agency?
How long did you wait to be matched?
What was your gender and age requirement?
Were the workers friendly and helpful?
My sister adopted from Los Angeles County. She wanted a child 3 or under and got a newborn which she adopted. She was placed with him right at licensing (or maybe just slightly before). Sometimes I think you just get lucky.
