So I had been using Catholic Charities to conduct my search. That was pretty much my only option since Florida adoptions are sealed records. CC had sent out a few letters with no response back. I finally asked them if they could send me a copy of the letter, just so I could see how they go about contacting birth parents. After months of asking and emails not being returned by CC, yesterday they sent me a copy. They actually scanned the actual letter(not a template) and attempted to black out the names. Lucky for me, I could clearly see my birth mothers full name!
I received this info yesterday, which happened to also be my birthday. Now I am one step closer...hopefully.
I wasn't able to send an email on Facebook due to privacy settings so I wrote a nice letter explaining why I was searching and a big thank you to her for making this choice 35 years ago.
This morning, she emailed me back and she is my birth mother and has always thought about me and how I was doing. She is open to contact!
I honestly wasn't sure if I would ever get to this point, so let the roller coaster begin!
