My husband and I have decided it is time to start our search for an adoption agency, etc. after being together for 7 years, married for 2 years, and failed our second cylce of IVF.
I never would have thought that there would be so many different options....or to be led astray by the first place we talked to. (I swear some of these places just see $$$ and will say anything to make it!) :grr:
So I am looking for any information, experiences, etc. that anyone has to help us make the right decision. Especially if anyone has dealt with a company in the midwest, I don't know that I like the idea of never meeting the agency in person or atleast knowing that I wouldn't have to hop on a plane to do so.
My wife and I are in a similar situation and would like to get some advice on how to become adoptive parents. Does any body know a good place to start?

I tell people on my blog to get this book. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Adoption, Second Edition
It is a easy read and helped me alot.
My husband and I are now in the steps of finalizing our adoption. What ever questions you have you can ask.
We are in the waiting phase but my advice would be to attend a free adoptional informational meeting. That helped us wrap our minds around the process. Others have suggested books that are helpful. My FAVORITE podcast is "Creating a Family" by Dawn Daveport. She provides TONS of helpful information about the adoption process. You can go to her website or listen via iTunes. Last but certainly not least, this board provides a tremendous amount of help & support! All the best!
Also, decide if you want a newborn, a toddler or an older child. This will help dictate your path (Domestic, Int'l or Fostercare) & agency choice.
