with trying to read/understand some posts because of all the spelling and grammar errors? I just read one post three times trying to decipher what the heck they were talking about due to the sheer number of spelling errors. Maybe it's just me, but haven't people ever heard of proofreading what they write?
Guess I'm just being grouchy today due to a headache. Caffeine anyone? Thanks for letting me vent.
What thread?
I always have a hard time with posts like that though and end up skimming.
And that's WITH caffeine...;)
Hope your headache goes away!!!

Maybe I'm cynical but to correct posts you have to be able to know when you've made a mistake.
Surely you don't really expect me to remember just which thread it was. That was this morning, with a headache. It is now afternoon and no more headache. lol
Seriously, I thought the headache would last all day the way my day went. It took over 5 hours for a 4 hour appt at the car dealership to get the protective pkg done on my new car. Seriously, they quoted me 4 hours and then when I got there, after walking from the kids school, they told me it would be another 40 minutes. Nope, not true. It was 70 minutes before they called and told me it was ready, and I was already walking back! Me thinks me made a mistake as to which dealership to buy from this time. Ugh. Great first impression with service department - not. :hissy:

So true Kathy. I'm also pretty sure that most of the people who have such hard to read posts have no clue they are making the spelling mistakes (well, at least the ones that aren't the result of doing something like hitting the 'b' key instead of the space key).
Others that I hate reading are those with ALL CAPS, all lower case - even the beginning of a sentence and a name, or the loooooooonnnnnnnngggggg runon sentence that should actually be 6 sentences.

I just roll my eyes when I see the grammar mistakes, but that's because I'm a very pious Grammar Nazi. After that, I make fun of them on Face Book so all my Grammar Nazi friends can enjoy my pain. The past few months have been brought us an overabundance of grammar issues. My favorite right now is the word advise when they mean advice. '
5 hours? I could knit a scarf or two in that amount of time. Maybe make a quilt even.

I recommend the knitting if you are waiting AT the dealers -- the quilt is a little harder to manage...
I get the protection package and wonder if it was worth the extra cost. (I've actually had 2 new cars in my 45 years of driving, btw.)
I love the car, but the first impression with the service dept was lacking. The dealership was great.
I could make a quilt in that time, too. Knitting or crocheting, not so much. I could cast on and take apart many, many times.
As far as grammar I would love to see effect and affect used correctly. Even the there, their gets me, as does well, we'll. Oh well. We can always start a grammar thread. I almost wrote one for the foster parent support forum the other day (I do remember that the thread was in that forum, just can't remember which thread it was), but erased it before posting. heehee
