I was also born in NYC, and I know that New York state maintains a closed-adoption policy.That being said, they do have an adoption information registry where you can sign up to receive medical, non-identifying, or identifying information (based on what you choose)... as long as your birth mother/parents are also registered. The state will input your information and look for a match to the info you provide.
