To any and all, I've been looking for support forums for people like myself who have gotten their children taken and put in foster care. As I've sat and read your stories, I see it's heartbreaking on both sides. My 16 yr old and i had gotten into an altercation and cps got involved, they also new she had been taking off and not coming home so when they came they told me not to put my hands on her and for her not to take off and not return home cause she has a six month old. They were gonna just put services in the house which was great! But they also said that if she takes off and doesn't return home i was supposed to call her as a runaway. Well i didn't for fear of exactlyhwhat had happened. So they are in foster care seperately, but judge ordered them together she is refusing to move out of the city but the only teen mom programs around are out of the city. Seems our caseworker doesn't know what he's doing he says he's new, my grandsons caseworker is awesome! how long does this process take. I'm doing my classes, started in jan my lawyer told me not to wait. I just got my plan from cw 1 week ago. just need answers please

I'm sorry that they have not explained that to you! You should have all of that info by now. I know that in cases of removal that I have seen, it is usually a 6 month to one year case plan. I have seen people complete it in 6 months and be reunified...but, most are still in court and working/or not working, as the case may be, their plan. This one sounds really complicated to me...if you don't mind me asking...are you trying to be reunified with your grandson, or your daughter? Or both?Again, I am so sorry to hear you are having to face this...it is a rough road, as you said, for all concerned!
