do they care if someone drinks?

They will likely ask about it, how often, how much etc. But I think as long as it isn't going to cause a problem with the kids it's fine. That means it's not within reach of small children, if that's the age you are after, or it is locked for older children. If it is a problem they will tell you and it won't make or break the homestudy. They are there to advise you on things like this. You could also call and ask before hand so that you know for sure. Usually they are willing to answer those kinds of questions for you and it will help speed up the homestudy a bit possibly. good luck

We have a large wine rack in the kitchen and CW never said a thing when we had our home study .

I just recently went through my home study a few months ago .. Don't Stress .. I didn't clean out closets , or go crazy , my home is clean but not so clean as I have 2 dogs so there is always dog hair here & there on the floor . The case worker checked for smoke alarms when walking through the house and complimented us on how pretty our home was. She did not even look in one closet , she just was checking for safety issues , all was good . She was here about 1/2 hour. So don't stress :)
