I am an ob-gyn in Birmingham, Alabama. One of my patients would dearly love to adopt a baby girl with spina bifida. She has 2 sons that have spina bifida and she cannot have any more children. She obviously has experience with spina bifida, she home schools her boys, takes them to physical therapy every week. She is happily married, and has a new home that was built specifically to accommodate her sons and possible future daughter with spina bifida. She is a wonderful parent. Is anyone aware of any list or organization that specifically helps spina bifida adoptions? I have told other ob-gyn groups in my hospital about her. She is in her early 30s. Suggestions would be appreciated.
