Hi I am in riverside county and me and my husband have done everything so fast, we got the background check and it was clear now I. Haven't heard anything in two weeks I really want to know what comes next???has anyone been in this same situation?? Please help :hissy:
I am waiting also but in another state , did you get both the background check & fingerprints back? Did you take your classes yet , or have your home study ? Our social worker got ours back a little over a month ago , Now we are waiting for DCF to enter all our info into their system ( it's been over 3 weeks since they got it ) We were told they have up to 6 wks to get it entered . So we may have 3 more weeks ???
It really would be nice if the SW would tell us the steps and time frame

I got a call the day my background check came back and they scheduled the home visit. Which is on Thursday and I might be a little anxious and scared about. haha Background check took just over 30 days.
Get in touch with your licensing worker and ask what is the next step. Ours kept forgetting about us until I'd remind them we were still waiting.
Yeah they sent us a letter last week that we were clear! So I am wondering what's taking so long I keep hoping there is something in the mail but no :grr: I hope it's this week but if not i guess I will call!
It has been 2 months here...classes done, homestudy done, fingerprints, background check, references all done!!! Just waiting for her to "type it up" UGH!

It took several months waiting for the home study and licensing after we finished all of the stuff that we could do. It is a slow, painful process, but we are just waiting on our piece of paper to make it official! It took 6 months from the time we called to get to this point.
I would call and touch base to see if you are on the list to get your home study done.
I guess our agency is fast. From start to finish, it was less than 2 months. The fingerprints were the longest process and took about a week and a half.
Yes, I think every state does it differently so without knowing what else you have completed it'd be hard to know. For us, the background check and some initial paperwork were all completed at the orientation meeting. I'd say it took about a month from the meeting until when we heard what was the next step. It took us about 4 months to complete the classes and trainings (could've been faster but we couldn't make all the first options for classes) and then after references came back in we scheduled home study. I'd say altogether the process took us 6 months. We probably could've shaved about 2 off if we were faster.
We got our first placement about a week and a half after getting licensed.
Yeah we have everything back!! We got everything done right away!! And we started in January! It's been four months so far and now that we are finished I haven't heard anything else :( :(!! I know they have alot of work and are short handed!! I think I will call today if nothing is in the mail too see where we stand!
