PS-MAPP classes are done, home visits are done and all paperwork is turned in.
Our licensing worker will meet with her supervisor on July 9 to review our home study.
We applied for foster/adoption and should receive our license sometime the first half of August.
Working on getting the house more ready for a foster child.
We've set our age bracket at 6mos to 8 years. I am really hoping for a baby, although a toddler would be great too. I'm more worried about how an older child would mesh into our family. My husband leans toward an older toddler to the 5-6 range. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Kind of freaks me out and excited me at the same time, that we could have another child in our home within the next few months....

I'm in the same boat only we are licensed and waiting for the call. It's just been my husband and I for 12 years and knowing we are fixing to bring a little one into the home is a little scary but super exciting in the same boat!
I am confident you will be placed with the one when the time is right!!
Welcome!!!! :D

Sheena we actually got called yesterday evening for a 2 year old (turning 3 next week) that is a new case and is already being moved out of his current foster home b/c he has such severe behavioral problems. :( They are having a hard time finding a home in his region so they ventured to outside regions. We had to say no b/c it would've been a 3 hour drive for any court dates or visitations and I don't want to take on more than I can handle being our first placement.....So we are back on the waiting list.
As for you....hurry and wait seems to be the motto huh? :grr: I do agree enjoying the peace and quiet while you can though! :)
