Ok - we got our final reference's paperwork in so now we're done! On the list and waiting. Odd question I know but can't find an answer - do they do placements on the weekends? I'm assuming they must since life isn't 9 -5, but didn't know if since workers likely are off on weekends, if they don't really do placements except weekdays? I'm ready for the call anytime. Went out today and bought a small pack of diapers in all sizes and a couple of varying outfits....I'm ready!
oh - btw - 1 thing I had to giggle about. Our state has
a FP handbook online. It's over 100 pages so I printed it, put it in a binder with tabs, etc... and our HD worker laughed and said b/c of budget cuts they don't give those out anymore and I am the only FP to actually print it, let alone read and organize it. Think I'm ready?? ha!
Yes, weekends, 1am, any time is fair game really. There are always peoe on call. We got a little boy at 1am Sunday morning once. It is an odd experience for sure, and my dd was shocked to meet the little guy when she woke up. :)

Yep, those middle of the night calls are always fun. I started keeping my cell right by the bed not long after we opened. My earliest call was 5:30am, so not too bad. I was almost ready to wake up anyways.
Depends here if you CHOOSE to be on the emergency call list here. The middle of the night and calls outside of the regular DHS working hours... only if you agreed to be an emergency home. Therefore getting a kid with limited information.
