Well today I was pretty blindsided by our foster care adoption informational meeting. The lady really liked us and our house but said according to foster care licensing we would have to take my son's bedroom which is in the finished basement and put a window in the room...he does have an egress window in the room attached to the bedroom. I guess because all kids have to have the same type of room. Is this the same for internationally? We do have an exchange student from Korea who has one of our bedrooms but that bedroom can be our child's after this school year I 2014. Can we have a three year old in our bedroom? Do we have to have the same type of regulations as a foster care home? We are now considering adopting internationally. Thanks we are so sad that we can't do the foster care route but that type of construction would be crazy costs.
