My kids were asked if they understood that kids would be coming to live in their house, how they felt about that, did they had concerns about that, and so on. She also asked my kids if they had any favorite activities, what they do for fun, and fun things we do as a family. I did not find it invasive as she was just trying to get a feel for my kids' personalities and feelings on fostering, but I do know other people who felt it was intrusive. We had already discussed fostering with our children, and they were excited from the get go, so there were no surprises for them during that interview.

That's more or less how our homestudy went too. Our 4 year old son was included in a very friendly, get-to-know you kind of way. nothing intrusive or formal about it. I suppose they want to be sure you aren't keeping your current kids locked in the basement or anything like that too, but they only have to see the kids for a few minutes to know that they're fine.
