Has anyone read this? thoughts"
She is an author I've been drawn to for years. Finally reading her back story (being adopted into a family where she was brought in for the wrong reasons)
As I was reading this last night, I found myself wanting to all up Dickons and some other adopted adults, in order to see how much of this story is universal.. and how much is unique to Ms Winterson's life
Since I don't have phone numbers, I thought I'd try by posting here.

I haven't read it, and usually avoid fiction novels. But it looks interesting, and is written by an actual adoptee, and looks to be based on a real story(I think), so I may have to give it a shot!
Especially since you like it and it has you thinking. I like the ones that get you thinking :) And of course I like hearing other adoptees stories, and adding them to my big picture. The title has my curiosity going too, I like that sort of stuff.
So, until I conquer the book... What kind of things did she experience? Or what in particular are you wondering about?

This book is non-fiction (her book, "orange isn't the only fruit", was the fictionalized version)
When I wrote this post, i was in the part where she truly believes her AM got her mainly because she didn't have any friends and needed one. Later on, it became clear that this AM was more broken then typical adults
Later in the book, she (possible spoiler alert*) goes through the effort of tracking down her B-family. that was very interesting
Still haven't read the book yet:o
But glad it is non fiction!
I keep thinking about it, will order it today, impatient and wishing I could find every book online for free LOL
I gotta get one of those kindle things, anyone know which one a person should get? A person who can't see chit anymore? I think Santa would love to bring me one.
The thing I like about my kindle (based on vague recollections, j has taken custody :p ).. you can change the font to any size. that is extremely helpful for those of us with "aging eyes"
if you only want one for reading, you can get away with the 6" eink
If you also was videos and music, one of the kindle fires is quite nice
