We'll another birthday is just around the corner 11-20-71, I turn 42.. That means I have searching for who I am and someone who looks like me for 15 year, and I've gotten almost zero information.. It's like I popped out of thin air, now don't get me wrong I'm Grateful to my birthmother for both keeping me alive and then what I can only guess was the hardest thing she has ever done give me up.. The life I live is full , I wake up grateful and happy every day..But.. There is that piece of me that is wanting, needing to say thank you and see where I came from and see someone who looks like me...
(((((Denver)))))
I just want to wish you a Happy Birthday! You're a few months older than the son I placed for adoption back in 1972. He'll turn 42 in March. :cake:
I'm sorry you've hit brick walls in your search for your birth mother. Have you requested any help from the Search Angels on this site? Sometimes they are quite amazing!

First off thank you for the birthday wishes :)..Funny you ask about the search angels, I have talked to several people about that very thing.. But nothing comes out of it but directing me to expensive PI sites..I'm very apprehensive about using some of the PI services because, we'll all I hear is a cash register going off in my head..the first thing they do is $$$$ money then ask 1 or 2 question and say oh yes, and by that time I've shut down and there's No way we're working together..
Hi Denver71. I hope your birthday was a happy one.
A few thoughts. First of all, have you spoken to any of the search angels here on this site? I know that a few people have had luck by reaching out to other adoptees who've had experience with exactly this sort of searching. There are no guarantees, but it doesn't hurt to ask another person or two to see if they have any way to help. If they push you along to a PI who expects payment, you can always say "no thanks" yet again.
Without knowing what you HAVE done, and what, if anything, you've found, it's hard to make any recommendations on next steps, but if you haven't already joined any adoption registries in your state, or the ISRR (an internation adoption reunion registry), you might want to give those a try.
I know it's expensive, but if you + angel searchers are having no luck, you may want to consider paying for a search and reunion service. (I'd recommend that you go with a reputable reunion service, not just any random PI - who may not have experience dealing with the rather delicate situations that come up when adoptees initiate a search.) They aren't cheap, but if this is something that you really, truly want from the depths of your soul (and oh, how I know that feeling), it might be worth setting aside bits of money until you have enough to pay.
In the meantime, this site is a great place to come for support. You could also look for a local adoption support group to meet with (they might have additional ideas on how to continue your search from this point forward).
Whatever your next step is, I wish you luck in your search. I hope your next birthday will find you with more answers...
