I just signed up for this website because I have exhausted every avenue that I can think of to find my birth parents, siblings and family medical records.
My name is John and I am 49 years old. I found out I was adopted when I was about 10 years old. I didn't understand it at the time and grew apart from my adoptive parents. I moved out and started doing drugs. I was in rehab for 3 years. During those 3 years I became close to my adoptive parents after I finally understood adoption. I stopped wondering about my adoption since I found love with my parents and family. Now I am wanting to find them and my medical records since I am getting older and feel like I have waited too long and won't find anyone. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to contact me. Thank you.

Hey John, I read your post and wanted to share some thoughts. If you haven't signed up with ISRR, you might get lucky that way. ISRR is the biggest re-union registry in the world and it is free. If you want to make a donation you can.If you know where your adoption was finalized, you may be able to get information from the court records. Those records may be sealed, but you are entitled to non-identifying info. The information contained in those records will be related only to the court procedure at the time of the final adoption. They will not have any personal information regarding the b-parents other than possibly the names. If your a-parents don't have an adoption decree, it may be possible to get one from the court, depending on the judges decision. If the records in your state are sealed, I would think long and hard about having them unsealed. You will need an attorney, and your reasons for unsealing have to be acceptable to the court.I wish you the best.
