I was adopted from Jamaica and now live in New York I currently need a copy of my adoption decree, does anyone know how to go about getting that?

Lisa, I believe Jamaica is a commonwealth of the UK. However they have their own government.
It might be helpful to contact one of the Search Angels here on this site to see if they do International Searches.
From time to time there are notices by some Searchers that they do international searches. This way you can get information on where to write in Jamaica to get the info you need.
